Georgian Translation of the Arabic Version of “The Book of Causes”

Summary
Arabic version of “The Book of Causes” is translated into Georgian according to the language of Proclus Georgianus by Ioane Petritsi (XI-XII c.c.). As the translation of the Syrian version still does not exist, the multilingual terminological analysis of “The Book of Causes” can not be considered accomplished. But, nevertheless, value of the Georgian translation is based on Greek- Georgian terminological equivalents of the language of Petritsi in rendering the Arabic version.The immidate correspondance of Arabic Huwiya/Anniya and Georgian Aoba/Mqofoba could serve as an example to demonstrate the mentioned . This correspondence elucidates a slight difference between two special lexical units mostly monosemantic. It seems that the difference may be linked to the efforts of Georgian orthodox neoplatonist Peter the Iberian (Vc.). May be that surrounded by monophysits he tried cautiosly to show his religios position together with his neoplatonic ideas.
For that purpouse he differs (though not quite strictly) two aspects of being:
1.being - coming next to nulity, potential,capable of action, mentally cognized; 2. being - true, acting, next to non-being, involved in the process of action.
Georgian correspondences of Petritsi certainly don’t repeat exactly Iberi’s terms, but undoubtdely they show the resemblance. This encourages further investigation of the special languages of the existing versions of “The Book of Causes”. On the basis of comparative analysis it may become possible to unveil the milieu of their origin. Hence, this investigation may become one step towards the establishing the authorship and the original language of “The book of Causes”.
